Want to get out more in 2016? Aoraki’s PURR scheme can help.

What’s PURR about?
It’s an Aoraki region LIANZA affiliated library visiting programme for library staff.

“I found the most important thing was meeting everyone. Contacts and networking are gold!” 2015 PURR participant.
Never heard of PURR?
It’s been a bit quiet of late but that hasn’t stopped librarians from Lincoln University and Selwyn District from arranging visits this year, from one to three days, to suss out what’s happening elsewhere.

“I learnt so much from each person I met with, in many different areas – Programme and Development, Outreach, Maori Services… I spent time building a robot, sat in on an iPad for Beginners class, learnt about the importance of celebrating Matariki and Te Wiki o te Reo, went on two outreach visits to very different schools, and discussed partnerships and training.” Selwyn PURR visitor, Maria Mudgway, on her recent visit to Christchurch City Libraries.

No, it’s free, but you’ll need a plan.

That all looks a bit like hard work.
Fair enough, it might just be quicker to contact one of the committee members (using the PURR scheme link above)
